The first step: the selection of materials

AP Racing succeeded in reducing the weight of a large part of the caliper by retaining the main material and then removing the excess. Together with the use of forging manufacturing technology, the weight reduction rate of the forged caliper is 20% compared to the caliper manufactured by the casting process.

Stiffness

The calipers produced by the forging process have a 25% increase in stiffness compared to cast calipers. In addition, the overall structure of the caliper is carefully designed to increase the rigidity. The material for each part is filled to increase the rigidity, and it is also to reduce the load better when the brakes are suddenly applied.
